Tea Party Invites and kids crafting

Miss B is having a tea and swim party this year so we got to make some invitations today!  I cut the tea cup from the A Child's Year Cricut cartridge and then we stuck them to solid cardstock leaving the middle of the cup open so we could slide the "tea bag" card with the information inside.  I didn't want to make a trip to the scrapbook store so we used what I had, so they are all a little different but we love them!
It's way too hot to do anything outside except swim, so the kids have been getting creative- I went through my paper stash and collected scraps for them. Miss B wanted me to show the cards she made:
I especially like the "Be Happy" cards, how true, "be happy and you will have a better life!"  And the pop-ups too!
Miss G created some masterpieces on the Doodle Pro to share:

Hi Franchesca, thanks for your compliments, I don't see anything in your blogger profile to reach you so hopefully you check back here! I used the Cricut Cartridge: A Child's Year to cut the tea cup, but you could also do an image search for a design and then print, cut out and use it for a pattern. There is a kitchen font on www.dafont.com that has a good tea cup, you could enlarge it to the size you need. Hope that helps, good luck!

Thanks so much for this post. I am doing a little 'Tea Party' for my 6 year olds birthday in a few weeks, and used the teacup idea for her invitations.
Turned out brilliantly, and best thing was that I had everything already in my craft stash, so didn't have to buy anything extra!
Happy to email you a photo if you'd like to see....

I love these invitations. I'm trying to have them made for my daughters second birthday that's coming up. However, when I search for the cartridge "a child's year," I have 2 issues. 1, it's extremely expensive now that it's rare, which wouldn't be such a problem except for issue 2, that when I search through the images for the cartridge, I fail to see a tea cup. I just want to make sure that that is the correct cartridge.

Thanks Megan- the cartridge is A Child's Year- it is one of the best ones! Each "key" has several different features including monogram,(in a sacallop oval or a balloon!) icon, card, tag, font and shadow, and the tea cup is one of the icon cuts. I hope this helps and you are able to find the cartridge for a decent price!

I found the handbook for the cartridge online: http://us.cricut.com/res/handbooks/AChildsYear.pdf
if you scroll down to page 79 you'll see all the icons!
