It's been too hot to blog. And I needed to get some stuff done around here- it's been hard to get back into a routine after being on vacation. I made this yummy black bean salad the other day to go with dinner, and it was even better for lunch the next day scooped up on tortilla chips and I was excited to share it. You can get the recipe

And I went and saw the Harry Potter movie and it was
really good! From someone who doesn't usually like "that kind of stuff" really, go rent or borrow the first 4 and watch them, then go see this one! You readers really have me thinking about reading the books too, but only after I have seen the movies because I don't want to be disappointed! I love the mystery and adventure, and like to think about all the spiritual parallels of good vs evil, finding your gifts and using them for good etc- good stuff!

I'm so excited...you're nearly converted. I'm glad you liked the movie. I thought it was really good. I always like the books a bit better, but that's normal.
yea!! the new book is coming out "tomorrow" I am going to get it tonight at midnight with a bunch of ladies in my ward...you really should read them, they are so good. K, so since I've entered the blogging world, I rarely check my emails, so I just got yours. Ahh, cleaners...and sansabelts. So did you ever try on the ugly clothes that would come in or were you smarter than me. Whenever the YW are trying to think of where to get a job, I suggest a cleaners because of the great hours, but then I get grossed out remembering seriously how dirty and smelly all that stuff was. Sometimes I'll randomly get a whiff out in public and be all, eww, cleaners.
Anyhow, the salad looks so good and I'm going to try it next week. My poor husband thinks I'm trying to skinny him down because we've had salad or sandwiches every night for dinner, but it is just too hot!
i'm not into harry potter but i am into cars and i would like to know the make and model of the car you are driving. any other details would also be appreciated. i guess 'cars' are my 'harry potter.'
Melanie you make me laugh- My car is a Dodge Grand Caravan. Not too exciting sorry! But for the rest of you, I started the Sorcerer's Stone last night!
